Mayor and Council
The residents of Gem Lake are served by a mayor and four (4) elected Council members. The term for all offices is four (4) years and elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of every even year.
The City Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. for their regular meeting. There is also a Work Session scheduled on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Open Meeting Law
All meetings and matters of the City Council are subject to the Minnesota Open Meeting Law and the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Public Notice
Each year the City Council adopts a City Council meeting schedule. Notice of Council meetings are posted at Heritage Hall and on the City’s website. The city must post notice of a public meeting at least three days before the meeting.
