To report gas odor or other gas emergency, please call 1-800-895-2999.
Street Lights
Contact Xcel Energy online or call 1-800-960-6235 to report malfunctioning street lights.
Power Lines
For questions about trees near power lines, contact Xcel Energy by calling 1-800-895-4999. They will send out a field representative to evaluation the situation.
Report power outages online to Xcel Energy, or call 1-800-895-4999.
Report a Code Violation(s)
Report a property code violation by filling out the attached form here. Common violations include, tall grass, brush piles, vehicles stored outside, etc.
If you wish to remain anonymous you may print out the form and drop through the mail slot after normal office hours. The form can also be emailed to City@gemlakemn.org.
Report a Pothole or Other City Street Issue
Please report non-emergency street issues using the attached form here. For emergencies relating to street issues during normal office hours, please report to the City of Gem Lake at 651-747-2790.
For after hours and weekends, please call White Bear Township Public Works at 651-755-9828.
Public Works emergencies that threaten the health and safety of our residents or our infrastructure include:

Report an Illicit Discharge
Report an illicit discharge using the attached form here. An illicit discharge is anything other than stormwater (rain and melting now) that enters a storm sewer system, ditch, river, stream or other body of water. Any waste pollution that enters a storm sewer system will flow directly to the nearest waterbody without treatment and may cause serious environmental damage.
